Four River Family: Q1 Parenting Quarterly

Hello Parents, Caregivers, and Friends!

At Four Rivers Family Early Learning and Parenting Hub, we’re honored to be a trusted resource for families in Gilliam, Hood River, Sherman, Wasco, and Wheeler counties. Thanks to the generous support we receive from the Department of Early Learning and Care, Oregon Parent Education Collaborative, Oregon Department of Human Services, Oregon State University, and Columbia Gorge ESD, we're able to offer a wide variety of programs designed to meet the unique needs of every family.

We know parenting is both rewarding and challenging—and no two families are the same. That’s why we’re proud to offer parent education series, support groups, workshops, and Parent Cafés that are available in-person and virtually, in multiple communities, and in both English and Spanish. We believe parents are their children’s first and most important teachers, and we’re here to make sure you have the tools, knowledge, and encouragement you need to raise happy, healthy kids.

Our support starts early—sometimes even before your baby is born! We’re proud to partner with programs like the Gorge Perinatal Mental Health Initiative to offer prenatal support groups. And as your child grows, we’re right there with you. This year alone, we invested over $50,000 into local school districts to support kindergarten transition events. We also help families explore preschool options and connect them with helpful resources like Child Care Resource & Referral.

One of our favorite projects this year has been our Birth to Five Early Literacy work. We hosted a Children’s Wellness Summit to celebrate and equip the professionals who support families like yours. We also distributed nearly 70 early literacy kits through The Next Door, Inc. to families receiving home visits and to our incredible Parent Leadership Council members.

We’re grateful to walk alongside you on your parenting journey—thank you for letting us be part of your village! ….
